For a realistic first-month budget, add the subscription to the extra Cherries you would need after the included allowance. That combined figure is more useful than comparing subscription prices alone, especially when video or repeated image generations are central to the experience.

CherryPop says users can keep a character private and delete characters, messages and generated content from profile settings. Its Privacy Policy also says chat logs are stored encrypted. Those are useful controls, but they do not mean that only the user can ever process the conversation.

The same policy says NSFW chat logs may be retained for three years for service improvement and legal compliance. Generated media may be retained for one year after creation or until account deletion, payment records for seven years, and service providers can process data needed to operate the platform.

Visibility and data handling are separate choices. Setting a character to private keeps it out of public discovery, while the provider still stores and processes the account data needed to run the service. Publishing a character creates a different risk: its profile and premise become visible to other users, so do not build it around a real person's identity, private story or photographs without permission.

Do not use a companion chat as a secure diary. Keep real addresses, financial details, employer information and another person's private data out of prompts. Deleting something from the interface may still be subject to the policy's legal retention periods.
